GCom presents Windows 7 Workshop in cooperation with the Greater Greenbrier Chamber of Commerce event

[May-19-2010]

Greenbrier Communications, the only Microsoft Certified Partner in Southern WV, presented a Windows 7 workshop on Tuesday, May 18 as part of an event coordinated by the Greater Greenbrier Chamber of Commerce at the Greenbrier County Public Library.
As part of the presentation, Bill Lenherr, President of Greenbrier Communications, provided an overview of the evolution of the new Microsoft operating system, from XP to Vista to Windows 7, including the improvements that have been incorporated.
By listening to their customers, Microsoft has been able to address issues of performance, ease of use and security in their new Windows 7 products that provide home and professional users with a system that:
  • Works the way you want
  • Helps you get more done, and
  • Safeguards your work
Bill emphasized that for anyone considering an upgrade to Windows 7, consideration should be made for the age and specs of the computer(s) involved and that, generally, if a PC is more than 3 years old, it might be more economical and provide better performance to replace the PC with one with Windows 7 already installed. Additionally, as opposed to “upgrading” a current OS from XP or Vista to Windows 7, it may be preferable to backup the data and programs on the PC, remove the old OS and re-install Windows 7.
